Bounty Hunter advanced class Mercenary

The bounty hunter has the ability to be a ranged dps, tank or healer. Depending on what advanced class you pick. I will in this post, tell more of the advanced class I play, the mercenary. The merc have the ability to be healer or ranged dps.
The bounty hunter uses a resource system called heat. Most of your ability use an amount of heat, when your heat reaches 100%, you are not able to cast any more ability's before you system have heated down again.
The less heated your system is, the faster it cool down. So its a balance to use ability and keep the heat low, so you are able to use more abilities in a given time span.
And still able to go all out in a short period of time. You also have an ability called, vent heat, which can heat out some instant heat out. But has a 2 min. cooldown.

Mercenary

As a merc you have the option to act as a healer or a dps. You have 1 healing tree and 2 dps tree's.
I myself have tryed the arms dps tree and the healing tree.

Arms
The arms dps tree, is based around an missile attack called, Tracer missile. It has a cast time and when it hits the target it does 2 things. It stacks up a debuff on the target lowering the targets armor rating. It also allows the use of Rail shot. Which is an instant hard hitting shot.
Higher up in the tree you will also receive a buff to unload, and a change to reset the cooldown on unload as well.
Last point in the merc. tree is a new missile attack, heatseeker missile. This attack also receive the bonus from the debuff, from your tracer missile.

You have a very potent dmg output in a long time, if you time your heat right. In PVE running with your first companion, which is a healer, you have a very high surviability.
In PVP you should try to keep distance to your targets, as you dont have alot of ways to get ppl off you and get away. And ppl constantly will break you tracer missile attack. But are you able to play a bit tacticly and keep some distance. You are able to ditch out and immense amount of dmg to fast finish of any target.

Bodyguard
Bodyguard is the specc i currently are using. I have been running in this build from 32 are atm 38.
The survibility in this specc is immense in pve, but as the game is now I do not recommend using it in PvP. But that is mostly because the animation lag, and game UI is very poor for healers in PvP. (And this seems to be a general issue, all healers have.)

As a healer you have 2 heals to start with, a fast cast heal, Healing scan. And a slower heal with more healing output, Rapid scan.
Rapid scan dont have any cooldown, where healing scan has 9 sec. In the healing tree you are able to buff your healing scan, so it also leaves a HoT (Heal over time.) on the target after the initial heal.

You should be using the Combat support cylinder as a healer. When using this, you can target an friendly player and use your normal attack, Rapid shots. And you will then heal the target for a small amount. But most important you will stack a buff on yourself, called supercharge. This buff stacks up to 30.
This buff also stacks up, with the use of your two healing spells.

In the second tier of your talent tree you get an ability called Supercharged gas. You are able to use this when your supercharge stack reaches 30.
When you use it, you vent 16 heat and get a 10 sec buff which buffs your healing and dmg with 10%.
Amazing to put out more healing in a short time and to buff your dmg in solo or small grps. Maybe even able to use this in raids in burst times. (Dont know as im not 50 yet.)

A tier higher in the healing tree you get Kolto missiles. This is a missile which you fire at range on the ground. And it heals up to 3 ppl in the area of effect. If you choose to use more points in it, it also buffs the healing on the affected targets with 5%.

In tier 5 of the healing tree you get, Kolto shell. This is a shield you put on a friendly target or yourself. The shield have 10 charges, and when you get hit, it uses the charges and the shielded person receives a heal. This ability do not cost any heat. So it should be keept up at all time. It can only be on one target at a time.

In the last tier you get a powerfull instant heal.

All in all, you have a very good arsenal of heals. And when you get used to the heat system, I think its a brilliant healing style. You are able to pump out healing at a steady flow forever. And alot if its needed. Stacking your vent heat abilities you are able to get low on heat fast and continue healing.

I personally run with a melee dps companion, and I'm able to take on 2 grps of normal mobs with no problem. And solo HC +2 quest when orange without much trouble.
Im soon getting my first tank companion, so pretty sure then its gonna be an extremely hard combo to get down.

I will problaly continue being a healer, hopefully well into the endgame. So will continue to update you with Merc info.

Hope you found this info usefull.

My first character in SWTOR

My first choice of character in this game, was a Bounty Hunter.

My favorite character in the movies has always been Bobba Fett, so was natural for me to go down that path when the game launched.

I wanted to be able to both dps and heal, and as the BH are able to do that, it was a perfect match.
I have already tryed both types of gameplay, dps and healer. And I really like how they both play out.
I will make a blog post a bit more indeepth about the class. What Advanced class you can play and what that means. And so on. And my own first impressions of both parts.

Due to a guild I applied to its located on the server Bloodworthy EU, its a PVP server. PVP was a natural choice for me as well. I like the extra thrill in meeting a enemy while questing or simply exploring the world, and be able to attack or be attacked. Its a part of playing a online game for me.

The downside is that, it seems like empire is overpopulated on my server. So its not commen to meet any republic players at all. I hope that will even out over time.

A new Hope

The time has come for a new adventure for me. This new adventure is called SWTOR and is a new online game from Bioware/EA.
Its set in a setting of Star Wars, so its a well known universe to many. I dont know much more than, what I have seen in the 6 films.

I'm in no way a hardcore Star Wars fan, but what I have experienced so far in the game has been amazing.
I have been in a few beta weekends, and have been playing the game since early access. And so far I cant wait to play some more.

I have been a World of Warcraft player earlyer (For around 7 years.) and I also back then had a blog. The blog I used to venth out my thoughts about the game.
That being theory crafting, events, moments or whatever I feeled like writing about.
I also do video's and will continue to do those in SWTOR as well. I will end this by saying welcome all.
